Growing Pepper
I was putting away books at the library today... What a novel thought. :D I was putting away children's nonfiction and came across "Where Does Pepper Come From?: And Other Fun Facts." The front says, "Pepper comes from a pepper mill!" "Pepper comes from a sneezy place!!" Hehe :D No! "Black Pepper comes from the berries of the pepper plant. The berries are picked while still green and then dried. Black pepper is the most common spice in the world, and it adds a hot, spicy taste to food. Most pepper is grown in India, Indonesia, Brazil, an Malaysia." Smiles.

That sounds like a fun book. I hope you enjoyed it.
It was fun and quite enjoyable. Perhaps I'll post another one sometime. :D
Sometimes I miss putting books away. I miss learning the weird interesting things that are on covers and jackets. There's a lot of surface information and enough curiosity in the world to make me take a billion books home. So... in conclusion. Sometimes I miss working at the library, for the books and, of course, for the people. Miss working with you, Sara. Nice information, as well.
good read for the day! well, just about anything that makes ya smile is! It reminds me of a little story in my Grandma's Bible story book about a little boy that tells his mom:" Thank you for my good brown roll!" His mom tells him to thank the baker, the baker tells him to thank the farmer, the farmer tells him to thank the sun, & the sun tells him to thank God. It was a childhood favorite...maybe the pepper book is someone's favorite. ;)
