"What is Truth?"

What is the truth? Better yet how can I think of "truth" as a person? That is the question I've been asking myself this week. What do you think? I think that Jesus is the Truth and all other truths are revealed through Him.
I've been thinking about this because I'm currently in a science class and we are talking about ROCKS. Talking about rocks is 1) boring, 2) mostly theoretical, but they talk about it like it's absolute and 3) complicated/confusing.
Anyway, if someone had data on paper going back only 4,000 or 5,000 years, but was always saying, "Well this rock is probably something like 10 million years old" (quote from my science instructor) wouldn't you be a little bit confused? Would you say, 'I was thinking that myself'? Or would you say, "What! You've got to be kidding me! A million years! Where's the proof?"
Well, I haven't said it in those words, but I got pretty close today.
Every night before I go to bed this week I've prayed, "Lord Jesus, teach to me speak the truth. Your word is truth. Teach me to speak the truth in love. Love is patient, love is kind. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."
So, the point is when you're talking about the purpose of life in the grand scheme of things why struggle over the truth about rocks?

We just finished a part on rocks. There were some times when it was hard not to just blurt out but God will give the words to speak (the right words with wisdom and grace)in the right time. He always does. He knows what He is doing in us and through us for the geology part of science.

Mmmm...I've never been one to be fascinated by rocks or the like either. =) But it is fascinating to know that behind all the nitty-gritty details and above all the petty theories....there is a Creator!

Hi Sara!

I haven't taken a "rocks course" or the like that I remember. I have picked up various interesting tidbits here & there. I used to like to pick up coll rocks we found at beaches, trails, etc. with my grandma. Some information is interesting, but other stuff--not unlike the explanations of bacteria in the food sanitation manager/ food safety course I'm taking-- are extremely sleep-provoking. Hopefully you will have a chance to voice the Truth, but if not, you've at least had the chance to pray for those being indoctrinated! ;) Indeed, there is only evidence of a Creator of the creation, not millions of years!
